Riviera del Conero

The sea, nature and villages waiting to be discovered, just a stone’s throw from our hotel

The Conero Riviera is stunning for its incredible variety of landscapes. Sports enthusiasts can explore the trails of Monte Conero on foot or by e-bike, taking advantage of our guided hire service to discover the most breathtaking views.

Do you prefer a more leisurely pace? Stroll through the picturesque alleyways of Numana and Sirolo, past artisan boutiques and charming views, before enjoying an ice cream or an aperitif in the little squares overlooking the coast.

The undisputed star of the show remains the sea, as blue as the flag that has been a feature of the Conero Riviera for years. You can enjoy it by making the most of the lovely, well-equipped beaches or seek out the most secluded coves, exploring them by canoe or stand-up paddleboard. Alternatively, you could hire a boat and head to the Due Sorelle or the Gabbiani beach, all the way to Portonovo.

Numana

Known as the ‘Queen of Conero’, Numana is home to the Giardino Hotel and offers a wealth of attractions to discover. Among the most characteristic sights are the Torre, an ancient arch overlooking a panoramic balcony on the seafront, and the Costarella, a picturesque flight of steps linking the historic centre to the seafront promenade.

For a romantic break, the famous ‘Bench of Love’ is the perfect spot for taking photos with a view of the sea. During the summer, the central square and the lively Piazzetta di Marcelli come alive with events, concerts and shows, whilst the hamlet’s many bars and clubs become the heart of the nightlife.

Sirolo

Known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, Sirolo is a village overlooking Monte Conero that enchants visitors with its breathtaking views from the picturesque Piazzetta. The historic centre is brought to life by quaint bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlours, whilst in summer the square and the municipal park host shows, concerts and cultural events.

Just a short walk from the town centre, you’ll find some of the most beautiful beaches in the Marche region, such as San Michele Beach and Urbani Beach, set amidst the unspoilt natural beauty of the Conero Park.

Portonovo

Portonovo Bay, situated at the foot of Mount Conero, is a beach of large, white pebbles, which make it instantly recognisable.

As well as the beach, there are various seaside bars and restaurants, as well as a Napoleonic-era fort, an 18th-century tower and a charming little Romanesque church. Not to be forgotten are the famous saltwater lagoons of Portonovo.

Portonovo
Mezzavalle

It is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on the entire Conero Riviera.

This somewhat hidden stretch of coastline is accessible to visitors via a path that won’t daunt experienced walkers, but which is sure to delight those who reach it: crystal-clear water, tranquillity, a bay sheltered from the swell and a public beach. This is what awaits you at Mezzavalle.

Ancona

The capital of the Marche region certainly offers all the attractions of a major city: a theatre with a year-round programme, a wide variety of restaurants, numerous shops and a wealth of monuments.

Well worth a visit are: the Cathedral, which towers over the city from Colle Guasco; the Passetto, a scenic area leading to the city’s only beach; the Cardeto and the Citadel; and the large parks for those who love green spaces and nature.

Loreto

Loreto is known throughout the world as one of the most important shrines in Christendom. Every year, thousands of pilgrims come here to visit the Holy House, housed within the majestic Basilica: according to tradition, this small stone dwelling is the place where Mary received the Annunciation from the Archangel Gabriel.

The Basilica itself is a masterpiece of Renaissance art and architecture, featuring works by Lotto, Signorelli and other great masters, which attract not only the faithful but also art history enthusiasts.

Recanati

Recanati is the birthplace of Giacomo Leopardi, one of Italy’s greatest poets, and of Beniamino Gigli, the legendary 20th-century tenor. Strolling through the historic centre, you’ll come across the places that Leopardi immortalised in his poems: Casa Leopardi, where he lived and wrote his most famous works, and the National Centre for Leopardi Studies, a key reference point for scholars of the poet. The Beniamino Gigli Museum, meanwhile, celebrates the great tenor with memorabilia, costumes and artefacts from his career. Don’t miss the Pinacoteca Civica, which houses an extraordinary collection of works by Lorenzo Lotto and other Renaissance masters.

Offagna

Offagna is famous for its medieval festivals, which take place every year during the last week of July; they are among the best known in the Marche region and are popular throughout Italy. The village is home to a magnificent 15th-century fortress with its imposing keep, ancient defensive walls that are almost completely intact, and the Church of Santa Maria della Piazza.

These architectural treasures have earned Offagna a place amongst Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages and the Italian Touring Club’s Orange Flag.

Osimo

Osimo is a village in the Marche region, brimming with treasures nestled within its ancient city walls. The historic centre is centred around the main square and is bustling with shops, restaurants and artisan workshops.

Among the must-see sights are the Cathedral of San Leopardo, a splendid example of Romanesque architecture, and the Gardens of Piazza Nuova, which offer one of the most breathtaking views in the Marche region.
